How this works — every step, no fine print surprises
You deserve to know exactly what happens to your information and how this free service pays for itself. Here it is, start to finish.
1. You tell us about your situation
The form asks only what an attorney needs to decide whether they can help: your contact details, ZIP code and city, a rough debt range, the kinds of debt, any urgent pressure (garnishment, foreclosure, repossession), and when to reach you. It takes about two minutes. We never ask for Social Security numbers, account numbers, or exact balances.
2. Attorneys see the situation — not your identity
Independent Minnesota bankruptcy attorneys on our alert list are notified of your inquiry's general details: county, debt range, debt types, urgency. Your name, phone, and email are not included and are never shown publicly anywhere.
3. An attorney takes your inquiry — that's how we're funded
An attorney who wants to help pays us a fee to receive your contact information. That fee — paid by attorneys, never by you — is this service's only revenue. We say this plainly because you should know who pays for a "free" service: in this case, the attorneys do. Sometimes one attorney takes an inquiry exclusively; sometimes more than one takes it, in which case a couple of attorneys may reach out and you can compare.
4. The attorney contacts you directly
Usually within one business day, at your preferred time. The first conversation is between you and them — most Minnesota bankruptcy attorneys offer a free initial consultation, and you should feel free to ask about experience, fees, and approach. You are never obligated to hire anyone.
5. What we are — and aren't
We are a Minnesota-based matching and advertising service. We are not a law firm, not lawyers, and not a lawyer referral service — we don't evaluate cases, rank attorneys, or pick one for you. Attorneys decide independently whether to take an inquiry. Nothing on this site is legal advice. Our privacy policy and terms spell all of this out in plain language.
6. If your situation is urgent
Garnishment, foreclosure, and repossession deadlines can be short. Check the urgency boxes so attorneys can prioritize — and if your deadline is days away, also seek legal help directly rather than waiting on any website, including this one. Questions about your information? Email contact@minnesotabankruptcylawyer.com any time to correct or delete it.
