Terms of Service
Effective: October 2026
These terms govern your use of MinnesotaBankruptcyLawyer.com. By using the site, submitting an inquiry, or purchasing an inquiry, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Questions: contact@minnesotabankruptcylawyer.com.
1. What this service is, and what it is not
MinnesotaBankruptcyLawyer.com is a matching and advertising platform operated from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Consumers submit inquiries about possible bankruptcy. Independent Minnesota attorneys pay to purchase those inquiries and may then contact the consumer. That is the whole service.
To be clear about what we are not:
- We are not a law firm and we are not lawyers.
- We do not give legal advice. Nothing on this site is legal advice.
- Using this site does not create an attorney-client relationship with us. An attorney-client relationship, if any, is formed only between you and an attorney you separately agree to hire.
- We are not a lawyer referral service as that term is used in the Minnesota Rules of Professional Conduct. We do not evaluate your legal situation, we do not recommend or select any particular attorney for you, and we do not direct you to one attorney over another. Attorneys decide on their own whether to purchase an inquiry, based on factual details such as location and debt range.
2. No endorsement or vetting of attorneys
We do not endorse, rank, or vouch for any attorney who uses this service. We do not guarantee any attorney's skill, experience, availability, or results. The only thing we represent about participating attorneys is that they are independent professionals who are not employed by or affiliated with us. You are responsible for deciding whether to hire any attorney who contacts you, and you should ask them your own questions before you do.
3. Attorneys are independent
Every attorney who purchases inquiries through this service is independent. Each attorney is solely responsible for their own legal services, their own conduct, their own advertising and solicitation practices, and their own compliance with the Minnesota Rules of Professional Conduct and all other applicable rules and laws. We are not responsible for anything an attorney does or fails to do.
4. Terms for consumers
If you submit an inquiry, you agree that:
- You are at least 18 years old and submitting information about your own financial situation.
- The information you provide is truthful and accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- You consent to your inquiry being sold to one or more independent Minnesota bankruptcy attorneys, as described in our Privacy Policy, and to being contacted by those attorneys by phone or email.
- You understand there is no charge to you for using this service.
- You understand we do not guarantee that any attorney will purchase your inquiry, contact you, or agree to take your case.
One practical warning: deadlines in garnishment, foreclosure, and repossession matters can be short. Do not rely on this site as your only step. If your situation is urgent, seek legal help directly and promptly.
5. Terms for attorneys who purchase inquiries
If you purchase inquiries through this service, you agree that:
- You are licensed and in good standing to practice law in Minnesota.
- Fees are charged per inquiry: a shared inquiry (which may be sold to more than one attorney) is $25, and an exclusive inquiry (sold to you alone) is $100. We may change pricing prospectively.
- Fees are non-refundable, except that we may, at our sole discretion, credit or refund an inquiry that is a duplicate or contains invalid contact data. No other refunds or credits are offered.
- An inquiry is a consumer's request for information. We make no promise, express or implied, that any inquiry will become a client, a case, or revenue.
- You are solely responsible for your own compliance with the Minnesota Rules of Professional Conduct and all other applicable rules, including those governing advertising, solicitation, and payments for communications about a lawyer's services, and for independently confirming that your participation in this service is permitted for you. We provide a platform; we do not provide ethics advice.
- You will use consumer information only to respond to the consumer's inquiry and will handle it responsibly and in accordance with applicable law.
6. Accuracy of inquiries
Inquiry details come from consumers. We pass along what they submit. We do not verify debt amounts, urgency flags, or other details, and we are not responsible for errors in consumer-submitted information.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that any inquiry will be purchased, or that any contact between a consumer and an attorney will lead to any particular outcome.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, arising out of or related to the service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the amount the claimant paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred dollars if the claimant paid us nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a new effective date, and it applies from that date forward. Your continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of these terms or the service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota.
11. Severability
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest of these terms will remain in effect.
